We’re delighted to be welcoming guests back to our properties in this beautiful corner of the world and hopefully this will be a reality in the not-too-distant future.

We are, and will continue, to follow all guidance and regulation provided both by the government and also by the Associations that provide guidance within the industry and have made additions and changes to our properties and practices accordingly.

We think it’s important to keep you informed as to what ‘the new normal’ is for now, as we know how important all these elements would be to us if we were spending our hard earned money going on holiday somewhere at the moment.

Some of the policies and practices in place are listed below:

Cleaning Practices

Ensuring clean properties has always been important, but never like it will be from now on.  We are working with our cleaners to add processes and steps to the cleaning schedule to ensure that our cleaning is thorough enough provide maximum safety to guests.  Cleaning is done using the right products and processes and wearing the right protection.

Cleaning Hampers

We’ve added a cleaning kit for you when you visit our properties so that you are able to keep hygiene levels high whilst they are with us, to reduce risk and increase peace of mind.

Laundry

Our laundry service company has increased their hygiene practices in line with the current pandemic. This includes the temperatures at which laundry is washed and some of the products they use. We also now ask you to strip the beds and bag the laundry for us so that it reduces risk to our cleaners.

Local information

We’re looking at what we can do to provide timely, accurate information about the local area in terms of whats open, where you can visit and what the procedures are and if there are any restrictions in place.  Now more than ever, we will endeavour to promote our local area and it’s businesses to ensure guests frequent these great local businesses in the hope of ensuring as many as possible survive the impact of the pandemic.

Social Distancing

Both of our properties are ideal for maintaining safe social distancing measures from other people. The surroundings are such that there are plenty of places you can visit, walk where you won’t see another person all day.

We are continuing to research, read and learn to ensure that we are as educated as possible as to how to keep ourselves, our guests and our communities safe, as well as ensuring our guests have the best possible time when they stay with us. If you would like more information about anything to do with your stay, please don’t hesitate to contact us via email to info@gallowayescapes.co.uk or by calling 07961 095 598.

Happy Clients who have stayed with us

  • Okay, so the best thing about Craigbittern was the space, it was large enough not to be tripping over each other (we were three families, including 6 teenagers). We often go away together, but in other places we have been a bit cramped at some point (parking, kitchen, dining, whatever..). Actually the dinning room is fabulous and we all sat together at the table for dinner which does not happen very often any more. And the games room was a hit. Oh, and I got 4G (on Vodafone) which is a rarity in this part of the country. The wifi’s fine, but it was getting hammered by the kids. We had a very lovely holiday stay in a chilly mid-February and would very happily come back again

  • My first trip to Scotland was to gorgeous Craigbittern House. Stayed with 10+ friends, loved the beautiful landscape, long walks and coming "our" stylish (decorated so tastefully!), comfortable house to enjoy the fireplace. They thought of everything, including the a big collection of dvds and a game room! Best weekend getaway and can't wait to go back to explore more!

  • I stopped here for new year 2016/2017. The house is furnished incredibly well & looks amazing. There was plenty of room for everyone to celebrate without feeling cramped. The house is just across the road from the beach where you can join the coastal path to Kippford & take in the beautiful local scenery. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for somewhere special to stay.

  • We were very fortunate to stay at Craigbittern with our friends while we had a weekend in Sandy Hills. It's a gorgeous, well appointed house with everything thought out. The kitchen is fully equipped, there's a game room, a den, a nice sitting room, a living room with a fire place, a full-dining etc. Really recommended for a big group of friends or family. Craigbittern is big enough for people to go about their own thing - go for a walk on the beach, read, watch movies, enjoy the fire in the living room, play pingpong, nap, etc. Can't wait to go back and enjoy a weekend away from the city!

  • What a perfect place to celebrate with friends! The house is beautiful with real fires and huge sofas to relax on with a film, book or just enjoy the wonderful sea views - the beach is just across from the house. We had fun playing table tennis in the games room! The surrounding area is great for walking but I found it hard to leave the house and gardens as this is one of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed at!
