Climbing Criffel

- January 24, 2019 -

Criffel stands at 570 meters (1,870 feet) but appears much larger, as it stands higher than any other hill around for miles. Coming into Dumfries it creates a stunning backdrop and is beautiful to look at from afar. Coming closer it stands like a protector of the land as it watches over the Solway coastline […]

The best pubs in Dumfries and Galloway

- January 10, 2019 -

Dumfries is a place where you can eat, drink and be merry. From long-running historical pubs to new and modern dining and drinking, there’s a watering hole for everyone. These are just a few of our favourite places to take a seat and enjoy some great food along with a drink or two. But if […]

Happy Clients who have stayed with us

  • Perfect is the only way to describe this property and it's surroundings. The house itself set in a stunning location, with each room furnished to a very high standard is so warming and welcoming. If you can pull yourself away from the property, you are never short of things to do, with the beach across the road and coastal walk to the beautiful coastal villages Rockliffe and Kippford. Such an amazing place, perfect for a family get together or group of friends, can't recommend enough. Will definitely be back in the near future.

  • I stopped here for new year 2016/2017. The house is furnished incredibly well & looks amazing. There was plenty of room for everyone to celebrate without feeling cramped. The house is just across the road from the beach where you can join the coastal path to Kippford & take in the beautiful local scenery. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for somewhere special to stay.

  • Okay, so the best thing about Craigbittern was the space, it was large enough not to be tripping over each other (we were three families, including 6 teenagers). We often go away together, but in other places we have been a bit cramped at some point (parking, kitchen, dining, whatever..). Actually the dinning room is fabulous and we all sat together at the table for dinner which does not happen very often any more. And the games room was a hit. Oh, and I got 4G (on Vodafone) which is a rarity in this part of the country. The wifi’s fine, but it was getting hammered by the kids. We had a very lovely holiday stay in a chilly mid-February and would very happily come back again

  • I recently spent the weekend at this beautiful house and recommend it highly. The house itself is decorated and furnished to a very high standard with lots of attention to detail. It's very well equipped with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The kids were never bored with the games room, den and toys to keep them entertained. As well as the house being beautiful it is set in beautiful surroundings, right on the beach and with some lovely walks near by. We had a fantastic weekend and hope to return again soon

  • My first trip to Scotland was to gorgeous Craigbittern House. Stayed with 10+ friends, loved the beautiful landscape, long walks and coming "our" stylish (decorated so tastefully!), comfortable house to enjoy the fireplace. They thought of everything, including the a big collection of dvds and a game room! Best weekend getaway and can't wait to go back to explore more!
